Genre: children play by Dominique Caillat.

1767. Archbishop von Walderdorff and the eccentric court scientist Johann Zick embark on a journey through time, to discover the future of the castle, which Walderdorff is having built on the Rhine. A dramatic, comic and parodist story, based on true facts, in which we meet such contrasted characters as the child Mozart (who gave a concert for Walderdorff at age 7), refugees from a city fire, orphan children hiding in the cellars of the castle, revolutionaries, young soldiers learning the drill, American occupation forces, architects and musicians …

24 actors (can be reduced to 14 by letting actors play several parts).

Length: 90 Minutes.

Music: stage music soundtrack and songs.

Public: children 7 years upwards and adults.

The play was commissioned by the State of Rhineland-Palatinate for its music foundation “Villa Musica” and the inauguration of Castle Engers (Neuwied) as a hall for concerts and musical workshops.

“The production impressed through its lightness and pace... Loud cheers… Great success…”
